What is physical therapy?
Physical therapy is the preservation, development and restoration of optimal physical function. We strive to help you understand the benefits of exercise, proper body mechanics and postural awareness, as well as prevent the onset and progression of impairment, functional limitation and changes in physical function.

How do you become a patient?
Licensed Physical Therapists can treat a patient for 30 days without a physician's referral. However, some insurance plans require a physician's referral before they will pay for physical therapy services. We can help. We will check with your insurance plan and verify your insurance plans physical therapy benefits. Call our office today!

In addition to medical doctors, other health care providers that can refer you to physical therapy include nurse practitioners, physician's assistants, chiropractors and dentists.

What happens at the first visit?
We will perform an evaluation to determine what conditions are affecting you. Together we will determine the best course of treatment, including any follow-up treatments that may be needed to monitor and/or advance your treatment so you continue to progress toward your goals.

How do I dress?
Most people come in sweats or gym apparel. We ask that you wear something comfortable where you are able to expose the area that we are to be working on. For example, please wear shorts if you have a knee condition or a tank top if you have shoulder trouble.

What should I bring to my first appointment?
Please be sure to bring your government-issued photo identification and proof of residential address (if different than that which is listed on the photo id). Please see our "Identity Theft Prevention Program" for complete details. Failure to provide this information will result in delays or cancellation of your initial appointment. Make sure to bring any medical items you routinely use, for example, an inhaler if you have asthma. Also, if you have current medical information that applies to your injury, please bring a copy of that with you, or have your doctor mail or fax it to us before your appointment.

How long will the session take?
The initial evaluation and treatment will last approximately one hour. Treatment sessions thereafter can vary from 30 minutes to two hours depending on your injury. Most last one hour.

How many times a week do I need to come, and how long will treatment last?
Patients are usually seen 2-3 times per week depending on the type and severity of the injury. Duration of treatment also varies and is determined on an individual basis. You will have a better idea of your scheduling after the initial session is complete.

Do you accept credit cards?
Yes, we accept Visa, MasterCard and Discover card. We are unable to accept cards presented by someone other than the authorized card holder appearing on the credit card. Please see our "Identity Theft Prevention Program" for complete details.

Do you accept checks?
We are unable to accept checks presented by someone other than the authorized signer whose information is printed on the checks. Please see our "Identity Theft Prevention Program" for complete details.

Can I make payments?
If your insurance provider doesn't cover the cost of expenses and the final fee is larger than you can pay at the time, we will gladly set you up on a monthly payment plan.

What if I don't have insurance?
No problem! If you don't have an insurance provider then we will gladly set you up on a monthly payment plan.

Can I get a copy of my appointment report?
Any time you need a copy of your medical records, please ask our front desk receptionist. Depending on the size of the record, your copy can be picked up within 24 hours. There may be a fee for these copies.
